The first Encyclopedia of Mountain Jews was printed in Israel
The first Encyclopedia of Mountain Jews was printed in Israel recently. The editor of the book is Hananil Abramov, member of the Writers Union of Israel. The work was financed by German Zakaryayev, a well known businessmen in Moscow. The Encyclopedia includes articles on history of different groups of Mountain Jews from Azerbaijan and Northern Caucasus.
The Encyclopedia also includes information on prominent intellectuals of Mountain Jews, such as Telman Ismailov, President of the AST Company in Moscow, Mirza Khazar, former head of the Azerbaijani Service at RFE/RL, as well as on Hasan Mirzoyev, chairman of the Russian Bar Association.
