Official Baku handed over protest note to Iranian foreign ministry
Azerbaijan Embassy in Tehran has sent a protest note to the Iranian foreign ministry against business ties of Iranian businessmen with the Nagorno Karabakh separatist regime. As Azeri-Press Information Agency was in formed by Azeri Ambassador to Iran Abbasali Gasanov, Armenia “attracts, using deception, foreign businessmen to the occupied Azerbaijani territories in order to change the negative international attitude towards Nagorno Karabakh regime. There are attempts to persuade businessmen that there is a state in the territory and foreign investments’ safety is secure.”
Mr. Gasanov reported that some Iranian businessmen had yielded to propaganda and arrived in Armenia and Karabakh. “Iranian businessmen joined meetings, conducted by Armenians in the occupied territories. Agreements to organize Iran’s trade and industrial exhibition in future in Nagorno Karabakh were achieved at the meetings. In connection with the fact I visited the Iranian foreign ministry and informed it about Azerbaijan’s position. We were assured at the ministry that the Iranian government played no role in the question and the state is not interested in establishing trade relations by some Iranian businessmen, who yielded to instigation of Armenians, in the occupied Azerbaijan’s territories.”
