Russia opposes GUAM peacekeeping missions in Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Nagorno Karabakh, and Transdnestr

“Of course, GUAM peacekeeping structure will be planned for usage both in Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Nagorno Karabakh, Transdnestr,” Russian Deputy Premier, Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov stated in an interview to Greece Kathimerini newspaper.
According to him, such “peacekeeping services” from the direction of the wittingly biased union may not be adequately perceived by all parties of settlement process. “It is naturally that Russia, which advocates existing conflict settlement only by political methods, will find adequate measures in order to prevent such developments in accordance on this scenario,” the minister stressed.
