Minister Svoboda met Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan

On Wednesday 2nd March 2005, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cyril Svoboda met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammedyarov. During the meeting, organised upon the request of the Czech side both Ministers exchanged opinions on current bilateral issues. They agreed on intensification of mutual relations. Both representatives also discussed the case of professor Nazarov, who has been given a political asylum in the Czech Republic. From 20th January 2005, professor Nazarov is detained on the territory of Azerbaijan. Minister Svoboda asked Minister Mammadyarov for help in finding a solution to the situation of professor Nazarov with regard to his political asylum and serious health problems.
